DESCRIPTION
“The mansion housing this museum was the home of Rui Barbosa, a legal expert, journalist, politician and – diplomat during the last 28 years of his life. Dating back to 1849, it is an important landmark in XIX century architecture in Rio, reflecting some neo-Classical influence. The museum collection includes 1,400 items of furniture and fittings, as well as decorative objects, and items of personal use, pictures and vehicles, with a 1913 Benz automobile of particular interest, in addition to a priceless library” – Rio Guide
